PRERANA was invited by Youthreach to be the primary Evaluation Agency for the ‘Udaan Life Skills Program’ in May’07, which it implements with its various partners in the cities of Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The Evaluation focuses on tracking the participating youth, 6-9 months after the completion of the course and evaluates its effectiveness through:
- Focus group interviews with Trainers and Trainees
- Post Training Survey Formats
- Indepth Interviews
PRERANA has been continuously tracking the alumni of the programs, maintaining their database, alongside continuous evaluation of the benefits that have accrued from the training.
The focus of the Evaluation is on:
- assessing the quality and relevance of the training provided
- assessing the trainers who impart Life Skills curriculum
- assessing the consequential effects of the Life Skills training on the young trainees viz a viz employability and retention in schools
PRERANA has completed the first phase of Evaluation, which involved Surveys and Focus Group Discussions with trainees immediately after they completed the training.
The second phase is now on, wherein PRERANA is now tracking the alumni to analyse the efficacy of the program post 6 months of its completion, which has special focus on employability and the enhancement of skills related to personal and work competencies.
